Hello!

Many of you have expressed interest in keeping up with me while I am across the country at Vassar College. I think writing a couple updates every so often will be the easiest way to keep everyone up to date without the mess of email and mailing lists. Plus, practicing writing a blog won’t hurt my writing skills either. I’ll try my best to stay current with postings, and would always appreciate a comment or email letting me know how you are doing!

2008 US Democratic Convention Article

I recently read this absolutely ridiculous, but accurate and entertaining, article about the history of the democratic convention.  It talks about the 1924 deadlock, and the number of ballots every year since then.  This year’s convention should be interesting because neither candidate has enough delegates to win. 

The last time it took more than one ballot to nominate a candidate: 1952

The record number of ballots: 103 (1924)
